Channel 1 Eurasia: Kazakhstan strengthens its transit potential from year to year.

Kazakhstan is strengthening its transit potential from year to year. As for transportation from China to Europe, record figures are recorded there.

“For 9 months of this year, PTC Cargo has reloaded 1,217 container trains at its Dostyk TransTerminal terminal,” Nikita Zhukov, the company’s operating director, told the First Eurasia Channel.

Last year, 1,127 container trains were dispatched during the same period.
The growth of traffic volumes is facilitated by the active development of infrastructure and a number of measures that are being taken at the state level. Last week, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, while on a visit to China, again focused on the full implementation of transport and logistics potential. The President of Kazakhstan shared plans for the construction of 1,300 kilometers of new railways, the construction of new dry ports “Bakhty” and “Kalzhat”. These are real examples of the coupling of major economic projects of Kazakhstan with the global Chinese initiative “One Belt, One Road”.
