According to the Head of State Kassym – Zhomart Tokayev’s September 1, 2020, the development of the transport and logistics complex remains an urgent issue.
Implementation of the first stage of the program «Nurly zhol» was successful, it allowed to connect the capital of the country with the regions on a «ray» principle.
A new infrastructure framework for the transport system has been established, the country’s integration into global transport corridors has been ensured, and Kazakhstan’s historical status as a link between Asia and Europe has been restored.
However, the competition in this area is very high, said the President. Alternative projects have emerged in the Central Asian region that could reduce Kazakhstan’s transit potential.
Therefore, the second stage of «Nurly zhol», said Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, should be aimed at strengthening the leading role of the transport and transit sector of our country.
The competitiveness of Kazakhstan should grow due to breakthrough infrastructure projects, attraction of new countries and companies, increase of service level and speed of transit routes.
